Menumbuk Padi or Paring the Paddy
It is old Balinese traditional activity where the local people pare the shell of rice by using a big wood stick. The shell of rice are put in the mortar and then it is beaten by wood stick until the shell rice taken out. This process is looking primitive and now none of Balinese do the same thing since there are new machine to help them. It is usually done by some people in the village community after harvest.

Making Coconut Oil
This process is starting from breaking coconut fruit and then takes out the coconut core. The coconut core is sliced by using traditional tools until the core look like powder. Then coconut power is soaked and rinsed in the water. Afterward the water is filtered and put in the special container meanwhile the dregs are throw away. Then this filter water is boiled until the coconut oil come out.
- Making Offering/Canang Sari
Canang Sari is a Hindu Offering which is used by the Balinese to worship to the god. It is daily activity done by the Balinese Hindu in their houses or local community. This activity can be seen every day in Bali especially for big Hindu ceremony. It is made from young coconut leaf and it is nicely embroidered. Then it is combined with colorful tropical flower to complete it.
- Making Ogoh-ogoh / Giant Idol
Ogoh-ogoh is a giant idol presented a day before the silent day in Bali where the most known on Pengrupukan Day. The procession of Ogoh-ogoh performance is done in the evening time and the local people believe that this Ogoh-ogoh can dissipate evil ghost. At Bali Classic Center, you will be presented how to make the Ogoh-ogoh including the decoration.
- Egg Painting
The new trend of souvenir can be purchased in Bali is the egg painting. The egg is painted by the ink with multifarious of design, theme and pattern. The egg painted here is the empty egg. The common themes painted are taken from the nature like flower, bird, panoarama or other animal.
- Demonstration of Tenun Ikat
Tenun Ikat is a traditional cloth material manually made by the traditional tools. It is look very primitive since all of the tools are using wood and moved by hand or leg. There is no any single machine is involving of this Tenun Ikat Making Process. Nowadays, the only parts of Balinese are still using these tools.
